Alexander Wallace Dreyfoos passed away early on Sunday. He left behind a cultural legacy that includes the Dreyfoos School of the Arts and a performance hall at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. He was 91.

Dreyfoos mentored former Kravis Center CEO Judith Mitchell, who verified to WPTV that Dreyfoos passed away quietly in his sleep at the West Palm Beach Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residence.

In 1974, Photo Electronics Corporation acquired WEAT-TV, and it was renamed WPEC utilizing the initials of his business.

Alexander and Martha Dreyfoos welcomed Dreyfoos into the world on March 22, 1932, at New York’s Presbyterian Hospital.
