Alice Peterson & Alissa Sosnovske Died in crash on Hwy. 17

The names of those killed in a two-vehicle collision in the Town of Gleason on Wednesday have been made public by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, Alice Peterson, age 59, was driving south on State Highway 17 close to County Road CCC when it veered into the northbound lane. She struck the driver of a car, 22-year-old Alissa Sonovske, head-on.

The collision claimed the lives of both drivers. At the moment of the collision, the vehicles were empty of extra occupants.

The accident is still being looked into. Alcohol probably played a role in the occurrence.
