Alonzo Bagley was shot and killed by an SPD officer
An SPD officer fatally shot Alonzo Bagley.
In response to the officer-involved shooting that happened on Friday night, the mayor of Shreveport issued a statement on Sunday afternoon.
Tom Arceneaux, the mayor, said: “Any incident that ends with a police officer shooting someone to death is a serious and delicate subject. A thorough inquiry is warranted for the police officer, the deceased, their families, and our entire town.”
Alonzo Sentell Bagley, 43, passed away on February 3 at Ochsner LSU Health around 11:30 p.m. as a result of an altercation with a Shreveport Police officer.
In an altercation that took place at an apartment building in the 1600 block of Fullerton Street, Bagley was fatally shot. LSP was given the incident so they could investigate it.
According to Arceneaux, “The City and SPD will fully collaborate with LSP in its review of this incident.”
LSP has ordered that any communications regarding the event come to and from LSP, the Mayor’s Office stated.
