Nigerian politician and businessman Atiku Abubakar was born on November 25, 1946, in Jada.
His political career began in the early 1980s when he worked behind the scenes on Bamanga Tukur’s gubernatorial campaign, canvassing for votes and contributing to the cause.

Atiku Abubakar is said to have had four wives. They are Fatima Abubakar, Princess Ruqayyat, Amina Titi Atiku Abubakar, and Jamila Atiku-Abubakar.

Atiku Abubakar Parents
Atiku Abubakar was born in Jada, Nigeria to Garba Abubakar (father) and Aisha Kande (mother).
His father was a Fulani trader and farmer (he died in 1957 by drowning while crossing a river to Toungo, a neighbouring village to Jada).
Atiku Abubakar Sibling
Atiku Abubakar had a sister but she sadly died in infancy making him (Atiku) the only child of his parents.
In May 2022, he defeated Nyesom Wike, the current Governor of Rivers State in the primaries hence becoming the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2023 general election.
The 2023 Nigerian general election will be held on Saturday, 25 February 2023.
