Bernard Nussbaum, a clever, kind man and a trailblazing litigator, died at the age of 84 on March 13, 2022.

Bernie Nussbaum was born in 1937, the oldest son of Jewish immigrants from Poland Feivel and Molly Nussbaum; his father worked as an organizer for the International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union.

He grew born on the Lower East Side as a destitute street boy, then went on to Stuyvesant High School, Columbia University, and Harvard Law School, where he worked as the law review’s note editor and met his loving wife Toby at a mixer with Brandeis.
