Bill Hayes is an American actor and singer best known for his role as Doug Williams on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives.”

The former couple met at De Pauw University and were married from 1947 o 1969. They graduated together at DePauw and then started out into adult life together.  They had five kids together.

Bill Hayes began his career in the 1940s as a singer and achieved success with his hit song “The Ballad of Davy Crockett,” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1955.
