Briga Heelan – Organic

She was born on April 2, 1987 in Andover.Massachusetts. An American national, Briga is of mixed English, French and German ancestry. Kimball Heelan, her mother, worked as an actress and teacher at Lowell Public Schools. His father, Kevin Heelan, made a living as a playwright or playwright and had been at Phillips Andover Academy since 1983. He met his mother while at Smith College studying for his master’s degree. Briga is not an only child. she grew up with a sibling – a sibling known as Connor.

When asked about her names which are rather unusual, Briga Heelan said that it was actually an Irish name. Her last name was originally translated as O’Heelahan and for her first name she said it was the name of a heathen pagan goddess who she thought was just awesome when she read this. But the thing is, she was named after her grandmother’s best friend who has her roots in Ireland and is originally from Dublin.

Briga Heelan attended Andover High School located in Essex County. At this point in her life, Briga began to consider a career in musical theater and went on to study at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She also attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where she spent only one year. Briga later went to the University of Southern California when she realized she was not destined for the stage.

On the marital front, Briga is currently married; she is the wife of René Gube – her Ground Floor co-star. The duo tied the marital knot on May 8, 2015, and an announcement was made on October 31 the following year that their first child was on the way. Bennet Alejandra Gube joined the family on March 23, 2017. Currently, Briga lives in LA, California with her family.

The first musical Briga Heelan saw in her life was a theatrical production of the film called Little Shop of Horrors with her mother in the lead role. Growing up, she was originally supposed to carve out a career in musical theatre, but had to make a U-turn to acting upon realizing her strength was more in the comic arts. The young artist’s performance began in high school when she appeared in a 2002 performance of the popular Les Misérables. 2010 saw her on the set of Once Upon a Time in New Jersey.

The following year, in 2011, she entered Second City This Week herself and appeared on a single “Man Up” episode. The TV movie titled Against Culture cast her as Jill in 2012 and the same year she starred as Amanda Clark in five episodes of Jane by Design. In 2013, Briga Heelan appeared in a single episode of Happy Endings as Ryan and the following year she was cast as Shailene Dionne Complete Works

From 2012 to 2015, she had recurring roles as Holly on Cougar Town and 2013 to 2015 saw her play a series regular role as Jennifer in 20 episodes of Downstairs. Downstairs, his performance received positive reception from the Los Angeles Times, as well as television critic Alan Sepinwall.

Undatable, a series that ran from 2014 to 2015, features her in the recurring role of Nicki in 7 episodes. In 2015, Briga Heelan portrayed Katherine/Kiki in a single episode of Truth Be Speak and that same year, How We Live the TV movie gave her the role of Holly Bailey. 2016 saw her on the set of two productions – a single episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as Connie Cavanagh and Interrupted Go-Go Boy where she entered as Ashley in a single episode as well.

From 2016 to 2017, she portrayed the character Heidi McAuliffe in six episodes of Love and she starred as Katie Wendelson as a series regular in 23 episodes of Good News. Briga portrayed Veronica in 2015 on the set of The Night Has Only Begun. She was part of 2016 Dean as Becca and acted as Julie on the set of Literally, right before Aaron in 2017.
