Christopher McFarland – El Paso, TX

I am a clinical ambulatory care pharmacist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) with nearly 3 decades of experience in medication counseling and management of diabetes and cardiometabolic disorders. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992 and his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree in 1997, and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) in 1998 and Ambulatory Care / Pharmacotherapy Residency (PGY2) in 1999.

Since that time, I have worked with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other health care providers to provide collaborative and interdisciplinary services to patients for close to 30 years. I have experience in both hospital and outpatient pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical industry, Federal clinics and academic medical center clinics.

Most recently, I enjoyed a position in the Department of Defense as a DOD Civilian where I helped patients manage diabetes and metabolic disorders through face-to-face counseling, virtual visits, medication management, and polypharmacy review via direct prescriptive authority as a credentialed provider. Over the course of my career, I have provided multiple presentations and workshops to healthcare providers, student pharmacists, pharmacy residents and patients on both diabetes and disease state management.

Currently, I work as a concierge clinical pharmacist within a private physician office providing comprehensive disease state management and remote physiologic monitoring services to a population of approximately 350 patients.
