Christopher Rock Obituary, Visitation & Funeral Details , Retired Technical Sergeant

A retired State Police trooper from Kerhonkson has died from a 9/11-related illness, according to an announcement on Tuesday from State Police Acting Superintendent Dominick L. Chiumento.

The announcement said former Tech. Sgt. Christoper P. Rock, 59, died on Dec. 3 from an illness he sustained from working at the World Trade Center site following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He was assigned to New York City to help with search and recovery efforts.

Rock joined the State Police on March 30, 1987, and served with the force for 26 years. He was last assigned to Field Command, Division Traffic, and retired on Sept. 27, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, the announcement said.

State Police said it plans to post any updates, including funeral arrangements, to its online newsroom on its website.
