Colin Hunter Dies in a Homicide Murder, Former Albuquerque attorney
A well-known former lawyer was fatally shot Monday at a residence in the North Valley, according to Albuquerque police.
According to Gilbert Gallegos, a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department, Colin Hunter, 45, passed away on Tuesday as a result of his wounds.
After five in the morning, police were called to a shooting in the 4600 block of Fifth NW, close to Griegos. According to Gallegos, Hunter was shot by a “unknown offender” and the incident is under investigation.
Hunter represented Cowboys for Trump, filed civil rights litigation, and sued the City of Albuquerque over a contentious DWI vehicle seizure program.
Over ten years ago, Hunter also held the position of vice chairman for the Bernalillo County GOP.
After being caught by police driving while intoxicated in a vehicle covered in empty Tecate beer cans, Hunter entered a guilty plea to DWI in 2016. Up until 2021, Hunter continued to represent clients in a range of legal proceedings and civil issues.

Responding to allegations of a body outside the Cinnamon Tree apartment building on Central, police discovered Ramirez dead.
