Dave Coulier Parents: Meet Arlen Coulier, Dave Coulier

Dave Coulier is an American comedian, actor, and voice actor. He is the son of Arlen Coulier and Dave Coulier.

His mother’s family hails from Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada, while his paternal grandmother was a German Jewish immigrant.

Dave Coulier began performing stand-up comedy in high school by mimicking his principal and other school personnel over the school’s public address system.

He graduated in 1977 from Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, Michigan, where he played varsity ice hockey alongside future NHL star John Blum.  Coulier attended the University of Michigan as well, but dropped out after his freshman year to pursue comedy full-time.

Coulier’s breakthrough came in the late 1980s when he joined the cast of “Full House,” which aired from 1987 to 1995. In the series, he portrayed Joey Gladstone.

Aside from “Full House,” Dave Coulier has had a successful career as a stand-up comedian. He is known for his clean and family-friendly style of comedy, making him a hit with audiences of all ages.

In addition to his work on-screen, Coulier has been involved in voice acting for animated series and films. One of his notable voice roles includes voicing the character of Peter Venkman in “The Real Ghostbusters” animated series.
