Dr. Amit Patel, MD – Suffolk, VA

Amit D. Patel, MD, FCCP is a board certified Lung (pulmonologist) and Sleep Specialist. He diagnoses and treats patients who suffer from lung (pulmonary) diseases, including COPD, lung cancer, asthma and other complicated chest conditions. He also provides a full range of care to patients with sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, snoring and other sleep syndromes.

Amit D. Patel, MD, FCCP, earned his medical degree from the Gujarat University/N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in India. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. Dr. Patel has a fellowship in sleep medicine from the Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey, and additional fellowship in pulmonary and critical care from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey in Newark.

Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Sleep Medicine, American Board of Pulmonary Diseases and American Board of Critical Care. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), American Thoracic Society (ATS) and American Association of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

Dr. Amit Patel joined TPMG Lung and Sleep Specialists at Newport News and the opening of TPMG Lung and Sleep Specialists at Harbour View with his partners in March 2017. He is affiliated with sleep centers in the area.
