On Wednesday night in Tulsa, a drunk driver caused a fiery crash that claimed the life of an Oral Roberts University soccer player.

A car was reported fully engulfed in flames with a person still inside it at the intersection of 71st Street and Yale Avenue in Tulsa at approximately 10:20 p.m. The EMSA paramedics reportedly restrained the driver who caused the crash so that police could arrive.

According to preliminary findings, a man driving an SUV struck a silver Nissan from behind while it was stopped at a light. According to the police, the SUV made contact with the Nissan hard enough to force the latter through the intersection.

When the Nissan lost control, it reportedly struck a retaining wall and caught fire.

People on the scene tried to assist the Nissan driver out of the vehicle, but the fire spread too quickly, according to the police. On-the-spot death declaration was made for the victim.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, the victim was Eugene Quaynor, a member of the men’s soccer team at Oral Roberts University.

The at-fault driver was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel. According to the police, the driver was swaying, had trouble walking, and looked extremely drunk.

The suspect’s identity has been kept under wraps by authorities.

On September 28, 2022, Ghanaian footballer Eugene Quaynor was killed in a car crash in the United States.

Eugene attended Oyoko Methodist SHS, where he was the star player on a team that went on to win the “interco” games.
