Venceslaus II of Bohemia succeeded his father, Přemysl Otakar II, as the king of Bohemia at age 7. He later annexed almost the whole of Upper Silesia and eventually became king of Poland. He had a major role in encouraging silver production in Central Bohemia and took control of the mines at Kuttenberg.
