On October 13, 1990, Munteanu was born in Munich, Germany. Dorin and Florica Munteanu gave birth to him.

His father was a professional boxer and previous athlete, which served as an example to young Florian. Florian experimented with a variety of sports throughout his youth before settling on boxing and fitness. The actor’s passion for the two aforementioned pursuits greatly influenced his acting, specifically in the wildly successful 2018 film Creed II.

Romanian parents who had fled the Socialist Republic of Romania in 1985 gave birth to Munteanu in Germany.

His father is a dermatologist and a former boxer, while his mother is a lawyer. Munteanu was born and raised in Bogen and then relocated to Munich to attend Hochschule Mittweida, a university of applied sciences.

His Bachelor of Arts thesis, “Structure and Organization of the Sport of Boxing in Germany: Associations, Boxing Promotion Companies, Federations, Management and Marketing in General, with a Comparison to the Structures Implemented in the USA,” was successfully defended in 2014. In Germany, he has boxed under the ring name “Big Nasty.”
