GoFundMe: Tristan Ocasio Dies on Route 6 head-on Accident
Tristan Ocasio, a 17-year-old from Bethlehem, was driving north on Route 6 around 8:45 p.m. when he veered out of his lane and collided with a car going south, according to state police.![]()
Ocasio allegedly struck a second car head-on after striking the first one, according to the investigators.
At the scene, Ocasio was declared dead.
Ocasio, according to Region 14, attended Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury as a student. Ocasio was praised by the superintendent, Brian Murphy, for being a “wonderful pupil and inspiring.”
According to the district, Ocasio has one sibling enrolled at both Woodbury Middle School and the secondary school. Both campuses will have counselors on hand for the remainder of the week.
Minor injuries were sustained by another motorist, who was taken to Waterbury Hospital. There were no other known injuries.
The accident is still being looked into.
