 American ice hockey skater Auston Matthews recently faced an accident and lost his tooth during a match. Let’s have a look at what happened during the game.

What Happened To Auston Matthews Face And Teeth?

Auston faced an unusual accident during the match against Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday. He first landed his face into the crossbar and lost his front tooth.

However, the center player did not get any considerable bruise on his face.

He sarcastically gave the reporters the answers to get wired questions about what happened between him and the crossbar. 

Giving a wry and swollen smile, the twenty-four years player said. “I saw the crossbar, and I just decided I think it would be a great idea if I just put my face right through it. Great question.”

According to his fellow defenceman Jake Muzzin, Matthews was trying to stay on Sidney Crosby, and the post somehow got in the way.

Auston Matthews Injury Updates

Auston is recovering well and is playing every game even after the accident. He missed some shifts of 4-1 but came back on Saturday morning to take on the St. Louis Blues.

He came back with Maple Leafs on Monday with the opponent Montreal Canadiens.

He probably has done insurance, including dental, as he faced it for the first, mostly happens to every ice hockey player.

Adding to the situation, his fellow Mush told the media that he has also lost a few. He acknowledged Auston for defensive coverage for the game and all the season.

Auston has scored thirty-three goals and fifty-nine points in forty-five games. He is only two goals behind Chris Kreider from the Rangers for the NHL lead-in goals scored.

Meet Auston Matthews Family

In San Ramon, California, Auston Matthews was born to his father, Brian Matthews, and his mother, Ema Matthews. The couple gave birth to him on September 17, 1997.

Ema and Brian met each other at an airport where she was a flight attendant from Hermosillo whereas, Brian was working for a Los Angeles-based online. He is a chief technology officer for a manufacturing company in New Jersey.

The hockey player is from a sports family as his father and uncle played college baseball. His parents have supported him since his early days.

Though baseball attracted him more initially, he chose ice hockey later due to the loathed pace of baseball.

Besides Auston, Matthews’s couple has given birth to two daughters. Her older sister is Alexandria, and Breyana is the younger one.

Auston Matthews currently does not seem to be committed with anyone. In other words, he is single and has no relationship status.

The young blood is the crush for many girls out there. But, he has chosen to focus on his career rather than finding someone at the time.
