John Romas Obituary, Funeral Details – All-Star Baseball Player

We must inform you with heavy hearts of John Romas’ demise.

At Yee Hong Hospice, John quietly died away on February 1st, 2023, at the age of 43, with his wife and parents at his side.

Sheryl-devoted Lynn’s husband of six and a half years. Father of Madalyn (age 3) and Emily (age 1 1/2) with much love. Kosta and Alexandra’s superstar son.

A fantastic brother to Peter (Nicole) and Taso (Politimi). Gally, Kosta, Olivia, Alexi, Christopher, Leo, and Theo’s proud uncle.

Larry and Margaret adored their son-in-law. Sister-in-law to Stephanie and Sam, who is dear. John will also be remembered fondly as a loving nephew, cousin, friend, confidant, teammate, and golfing partner.

John battled cancer for longer than anyone could have ever dreamed after being given the news in January 2021, giving his loved ones more time with him. John was always looking to have fun and make jokes.

John maintained his faith and his outlook after receiving his cancer diagnosis.

The Ajax-Pickering Community Palliative Care Team, Princess Margaret Oncology and Radiation Teams, Toronto General ER Doctors, Yee Hong Hospice (Allison, Michelle, and Raveena), as well as numerous other nurses, medical professionals, surgeons, and caregivers are all thanked by John’s family for their contributions over the past two years.

On Sunday, February 5th, there will be visitation at the Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd., Toronto, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Monday, February 6th, at 10:00 a.m., a funeral service will be held at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 1385 Warden Ave., in Scarborough. Followed by burial at Pine Hills Cemetery.
