KeShim Whiteleather Found Dead in York County Fire

The identity of the man who was fatally shot in Hueytown early on Friday has been made public by the authorities as KeShim Whiteleather

The victim was identified as Marcus Cornelius Jackson by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. He was a 38-year-old Birmingham resident.

In connection with the 2018 Christmas Eve slaying of a former coworker inside a Piggly Wiggly in Birmingham, a 34-year-old woman has entered a guilty plea.

According to court records, Sharonda Monique James, who was initially charged with murder in the shooting death of 28-year-old Jerika Manuel on December 24, 2018, pled guilty on September 19 to a lesser charge of manslaughter.

James was given a 10-year prison term for the assault charge by Jefferson County Circuit Judge David Carpenter. According to records, both sentences will be read simultaneously.

On Christmas Eve, a shooting took place inside the establishment at 2500 29th Avenue N.
