Kionta Parks Arrested For Death Of 11-year-old Asijah Love Jones In Spalding County
In connection with the death of an 11-year-old girl from Spalding County who was struck by a stray bullet while dozing off in her bedroom, authorities have made a number of arrests.
On March 14, a bullet penetrated the apartment where Asijah Love Jones, 11, was sleeping close to her sister. The bullet killed her. She lived in the 600 block of Northside Drive.
Kionta Parks, 22, was swiftly named as a suspect by investigators, and arrest warrants were issued for him on suspicion of murder, aggravated assault, child cruelty, and other offenses.

“All indications point to it being a gang-related shooting,” said Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix. “He was shooting at another person who pulled into the parking lot from about 100 yards away with a rifle and was just spraying bullets.”
Dix described Parks as a “monster” and claimed that he had a history of violence.
He completely disregards the value of human life. He gives it no thought. Just like he doesn’t think about breathing, he doesn’t consider anything when he pulls the trigger on a gun, the sheriff added.
Parks eluded authorities for weeks, but late on Tuesday, authorities claim they obtained information from Griffin Police Department investigators that allowed them to take a closer look at a location where Parks was thought to be. Parks was apprehended by cops on Wednesday when they saw him in a car on North 13th Street.

Parks is accused of 14 counts of breaking the Georgia Criminal Street Gang Act, felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, four counts of having a firearm while committing a crime, cruelty to minors, and domestic terrorism. He allegedly participated in another shooting incident, according to officials, and he had outstanding warrants for those charges.
