Kris Allen is a singer cum songwriter known for emerging winner of the eighth season of the reality TV show American Idol in 2009.

Born on June 21, 1985, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, Allen had initially released an album titled Brand New Shoes in 2007, before winning American Idol.

After winning on the show, he signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records, and released his self-titled debut album, “Kris Allen”, which ranked number 11 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over 300,000 copies in the United States.

In 2012, Allen released his second studio album, “Thank You Camellia,” and since then has released several albums and EPs, including “Horizons” (2014), “Letting You In” (2016), and “Somethin’ About Christmas” (2020).

In 2021, Allen embarked on a music tour across Europe with David Cooke and the following year, he released the hit track “It’s You I Like”.

Allen’s style of music comes with a blend of pop-rock, acoustic, and folk influences. He however continues to make live performances in his soulful vocals, and heartfelt lyrics.

Outside of music, Allen is involved in various philanthropic activities and has collaborated with several charitable organizations.
