Marlon Jarel Emory Died in fiery head-on collision in University Heights

A tragic head-on accident occurred on Cedar Road near Brockway Road on Saturday afternoon, according to University Heights police.

Both automobiles were destroyed by fire after the collision. At the time of their arrival, approximately 4:30 p.m., police reported that “occupants of the vehicles were determined to be deceased.”

One of the fatalities was eventually identified as South Euclid resident Marlon Jarel Emory, 20, by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

A second person was also hurt in the collision and transferred to a local hospital.

The intersection had to be reopened after several hours of clearing the debris.
