Missing Chad Garrie Found Dead, Obituary

Over the weekend, a body of a Trinity man who had been missing since late January was found in Bankhead National Forest.

About 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, the remains of Trinity resident Chad Garrie, 44, were discovered.

According to reports, Garrie was last heard from on January 25. His truck was found on February 2 at Indian Tomb Hollow close to a gate. He allegedly went arrowhead hunting. According to WHNT, based on decomposition and recent weather, it seems that he passed away around that time.

After Garrie’s truck was discovered, a three-day search turned up nothing.

The Department of Forensic Services received Garrie’s body to conduct an autopsy. Authorities assert that they do not think foul play was involved in his death.

His mother Marsha Moses praised “everyone who has poured your love out to us” in a Facebook post.

She wrote, “If you knew Chad, you knew he adored the mountains. “He was discovered on the highest ridge in the spot he loved.

when his mind was overloaded with the things of this world, the spot he would go to hear God. Never questioned God’s presence. You may argue that this is a mother hoping for the best, but I can assure you that this is a mother telling the truth.
