Missing Samantha Humphrey Uodate; Family Seem Help In Finding her

14 year old Samantha Humphrey’s mom is speaking out, as the search for her daughter continues along the Mohawk River in Schenectady. Samantha was last seen at around 11:30 PM back on November 25th.

“I want Samantha to know that everybody is very scared and she is very loved and that we only want her home with us as soon as possible and so if she’s out there for any reason, doing her Sam thing, and like seeing this or seeing anything else on the news, that hopefully she knows how much of an impact its having on me and the rest of her family and her friends and the parents of all of her friends,” Jaclyn Humphrey told CBS 6.

Jaclyn Humphrey tells CBS 6 her daughter has left home before without telling people where she was going but always texts or calls after a few hours. This time she feels is different and fears her daughter may be in danger.

Jaclyn says Samantha’s phone records show her last calls where to her ex-boyfriend. She says Samantha’s ex spoke with Samantha’s brother after Samantha was reported missing and confirmed to him he was with her Friday night and said the two had had an argument.

Schenectady Police say they have interviewed witnesses but due to Samantha’s age they are being very careful about the information they put out to the public.

Samantha is described as 4’11, 95 lbs., and was last seen wearing a black and pink puffy jacket, bell bottom jeans, and tan Timberland boots.

A photo on social media was circulating, showing a similar coat in a shallow body of water. Police say they had spoken to the person who took the photo and the coat is being examined as evidence. Jaclyn Humphrey told CBS 6 she believes the coat is Samantha’s.

On Monday, Schenectady Police searched the Mohawk river in the area of Riverfront Park. The search continued on Tuesday with parts of Riverside Park remaining closed to the public. Schenectady PD says NY State Police are assisting in their investigation, bringing in their helicopter and dive team.

Schenectady Police say they are also using their drone in the search.
