Norman Raymond Smith, fondly known as “Norm,” left us all too soon at the age of 59 due to a tragic motorcycle accident on September 24, 2023, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born on March 29, 1964, in Allegan, Michigan, Norm’s journey was one marked by a strong work ethic, creativity, and a zest for life.

Norm was a graduate of Allegan Public Schools and honed his skills as an accomplished woodworker and landscaper, where his handiwork reflected his passion, discipline, and dedication. For 18 years, he proudly contributed to Wolverine Hardwoods, where he recently earned a well-deserved promotion to retail sales. His colleagues will remember him as a friendly, dependable, and helpful colleague who brightened their days.

Yet, Norm was more than just a dedicated worker. He was a vibrant soul who relished every moment life offered. His mischievous sense of humor often led him to play good-natured pranks on friends and family, filling their lives with laughter. His smirky smile was a telltale sign of the next joke he was brewing. Beyond his work and playful spirit, Norm held a profound love for his family.

Norm was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a caring son and brother. His family was his anchor, and their boundless love and support provided him with unwavering strength. Norm’s absence will leave a profound void in their lives.

Norm possessed many talents, but his greatest gift was his ability to unite people from all walks of life. His unique and unforgettable character, coupled with his love for humor and pranks, made him a cherished figure in the hearts of those who knew him. To know Norm was to adore him, as he was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
