Obituary | How Did Michelle Ross Die? Cause of Death

Michelle Rose is the author of three collections of stories: Too Much They Don’t Tell You (Moon City Press 2017), winner of the 2016 Moon City News Short Story Award, and the author of the 2017 Foreward INDIES Book of the Year Finalist for the Short Story Prize, Shapeshifting, winner of the 2020 Stillhouse Press Short Story Prize (November 2021); and They Keep Running, winner of the 2021 Katherine Anne Porter Short Story Prize (Spring 2022).

Her novels have appeared in Alaska Quarterly, Colorado Review, Epiphany, Electronic Literary Recommendations, Tri-Quarter, Witness, and more. Her novels have been selected for Flash Fiction America (written by W.W. Norton in 2023), Best Short Novel 2021, Best Microfiction 2020 and 2021, Wigleaf 50 2019, and more. Her work has been recognized by Emrys Journal, Gulf Coast, Sixfold, Zizzle Lit and more.

She is the fiction editor of Atticus Review and the consulting editor of the 2018 anthology Best Small Fictions.

She is Texan and has a bachelor’s degree. from Emory University with her M.F.A. and MA from Indiana University. She lives in Tucson, Arizona with her husband and son. She works on digital courses and assessments.
