Obituary, Montgomery, AL Native JD Owings Has Passed Away – Cause Of Death

John David JD Owings died abruptly on November 13, 2022. He was 28 years old. He had spent his entire life in the city of Birmingham, Alabama, where he was born.

Heaven extended an invitation for his safe return. His parents Mike and Shannon Owings, his brother Joshua (and his wife Anna), his sister Kaitlyn, and many other relatives will miss him dearly. He leaves behind a loving niece, Madeline Ann Owings. Bill and Paula Godwin, Charles and Deborah Johns, and the late Edward Owings are the grandparents of the grandchildren. Edward Owings plays the role of a great-grandparent. Many cousins and aunts who loved him dearly are still here to mourn his passing, and of course there’s “Buddy,” his most beloved and dependable animal companion and friend. His great grandparents were Travis and Maude Spain, JD, and Mary Charles Haynes, who all predeceased him. JD Owings, born on May 18, 1994, had a heart full of compassion.

He enthusiastically embraced life, and he loved and cared deeply for everyone he encountered. He was a model for everyone to follow. His humor and kindness made everyone he knew laugh uncontrollably and feel an abundance of love. Even though his physical presence will be sorely missed on Earth, we can take comfort in knowing that through God’s grace and in fulfillment of his life’s purpose, he is now with Jesus for all eternity. On Thursday, November 17 at 1:30 pm, Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama, will host a celebratory service led by Pastor Kenneth Bruce. For convenience’s sake, please use the rear entrance of the church.
