Omar E. López is a Venezuelan professional baseball player and coach. Omar is the third base coach for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball.

Omar had already managed the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Class AA Texas League in 2018 and 2019 before being promoted to the Astros’ coaching staff as their first base coach before the 2020 season.

Omar was named the Manager of the Year in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League for the 2014-15 season after he led the Caribes de Anzoategui to a league-best 39-24 regular-season record and an LVBP Championship title in what was his first year as the club’s manager

As a player, Omar played in Minor League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox organization in 1996 and 1997. Omar also made a move to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in 1998.
