Pusha T’s Biography
Pusha T was born Terrence LeVarr in Thornton on May 13, 1977. His place of birth was the Bronx borough of New York City, but his family moved to Virginia Beach in Virginia shortly after his birth. It was there that Pusha and his brother Gene Thorton were raised.
The brothers got into the drug business when they were just teenagers. Gene bore the brunt of her parents’ anger because he was the one who got found out and got kicked out of the house. The brother’s closeness seemed unaffected by the difficulties, and in 1992 the pair began pursuing a career in hip-hop by forming a duo group called Clipse.
After forming Clipse, they were fortunate enough to be introduced to Pharrell Williams. The record producer introduced them to Elektra Records and helped them land a record deal with the record company in 1997. After signing the contract, the duo immediately began work on a debut album. They recorded the album, but after the one single they released failed commercially, the label canceled the album’s release and dropped it after a while. Pusha T still managed to score quite a few features on other artist’s song, despite no longer having a label.
The setback wasn’t to last as long as PharellWilliams performed again in 2001 to sign the brothers to Arista Records. In 2002, Clipse released their debut album entitled Lord Willin. It had some commercial success, hitting #1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #4 on the Billboard Hot 200. They launched their own label imprint, which they called Re-Up Records. They also put together another hip hop group, which featured Ab-Liva and Sandman, which they called the Re-Up Gang.
After all the hard work making a name for himself, Pusha T took his solo act to a new level in 2010 when he signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label. He featured Kanye on his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and released the Fear of God label’s first mixtape in 2011. It was also announced later in 2011 that he was signed by Def Jam. He still reunited with his brother after his first solo album GOOD, and the two have released another album. Aside from his brother and other members of the Re-Up Gang, Pusha T has continued to collaborate with some of the game’s best artists, including top producers and rappers like Future, 2 Chainz and Timbaland.Wealth (income and earnings)
