Rhoda Kadalie was a South African academic who died on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

She founded the University of Western Cape’s Gender Equity Unit.

In June 1999, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by Uppsala University’s Faculty of Social Sciences in Sweden.

For many years, Kadalie has been a guest writer for Business Day, a daily national newspaper in South Africa, Die Burger, and all of its sister titles.

She wrote for The Citizen and Beeld, and her column is distributed to all Afrikaans publications.

In 2011, she taught for seven weeks on the Semester at Sea Ship (University of Virginia), sailing from Ghana to Cape Town.

She was 68.
