Unexpectedly and prematurely,   Shane Pennington passed away in a plane crash, leaving friends, relatives, and the entire community grieving and in shock.

A tiny plane crash in a residential area on Indianapolis’ south side has resulted in one fatality.

Around 3:45 pm on Tuesday, Indianapolis Metro police were called to the 4100 block of Weaver Avenue due to a small aircraft crash on the railroad tracks.

IMPD crews at the scene confirmed around 4:45 p.m. that the plane’s lone occupant had perished in the collision.

There is no current threat to the area, according to IMPD PIO Genae Cook, and the cause of the crash is unknown. IMPD is requesting contact from anyone who may have a video of the collision.

The origin and intended destination of the plane have not yet been confirmed by crews, according to police on the scene.
