“Steve’s first day was May 2 and he is co-anchoring and reporting started as early as May 5”, said KRON News Director Aaron Pero. “He co-anchor with Pam Moore on the 6, 8 and 11 p.m. newscasts. Started Monday, May 1, 2020, he also co-anchor the new KRON4 News At Ten.”
Steve joins KRON from New England Cable News where he had been a news anchor since joining the regional cable news station in 2010. Although Steve is from San Francisco, he has deep ties to New England television news, spending most of his professional career in multiple newsrooms across the region. He began his career as contributing host for Evening/PM Magazine at WBZ-TV in Boston where his New England Portrait series introduced him to distinguished characters from Portland, ME to Pawtucket, RI.
He anchored news breaks for The Christian Science Monitor channel in Boston and was a correspondent and anchor at WXIA-TV in Atlanta. Nationally, Steve spent four years working at ABC News where he was a correspondent for Good Morning America and 20/20. He also served as an anchor for several ABC News programs including, World News This Morning, Good Morning America Sunday, and ABC’s Emmy award-winning Discovery News.
Steve has also spent time as an anchor and reporter at WCVB-TV and at WFXT-TV in Boston. Prior to joining NECN, Steve spent seven years as the primary news co-anchor at WPRI-TV in Providence, RI.
