Veteran actor and Bollywood’s typified mother, Sulochana Latkar, is no longer with us. Sulochana Latkar made her debut in films in 1946. She was the lead actress in Marathi films from 1946 to 1961 with films like Sasurvas (1946), and Vahinichya Bangdya (1953).

Sulochana Latkar husband

At the age of fifteen, Sulochana got married to Abasaheb Chavan, who belonged to a family of wealthy landlords in Maharashtra. Sulochana died due to age-related complications and prolonged illness at Shushrusha Hospital in Dadar Mumbai on 4 June 2023.

Sulochana’s daughter’s name is Kanchan Ghanekar she was the wife of Marathi stage superstar Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar.

Sulochana’s father was a faujdar (a police officer), who served in the Kolhapur State. Her parents passed away when she was 12-13.

There is no information on the internet showing whether she has siblings or was born as the only child.  She was awarded the Chitrabhushan Award instituted by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Baburao Painter, one of the founders of the modern Marathi cinema.
