Vivienne Westwood family, wife, children, parents, siblings
81-year-old British fashion icon Dame Vivienne Westwood passes away.
She died peacefully yesterday, December 29 in London, surrounded by her family. A representative of her company, which she owns, confirmed her death in a statement.
For decades, Vivienne Westwood dominated both UK and global fashion. She was also a vocal campaigner and provocateur.
Since she helped popularize the punk image, the designer was easily recognized thanks to her orange hair dye job.
When she opened a store on London’s King’s Road with Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren in the 1970s, Dame Vivienne became famous for popularizing punk fashion.
Later, she founded a major fashion company with shops in the US, Asia, France, the UK, and Italy.
The fashion designer was quite a wild one. The Queen’s OBE award to Dame Vivienne in 1992 was an example of her rebellious side.
She arrived sans underpants, which she made clear to the cameras by twirling her skirt.
Spouse and Children
Two kids were born to Westwood. Her son Ben Westwood, who was born in 1963, is an erotica photographer. Her son with Malcolm McLaren, Joseph Corré, founded the lingerie line Agent Provocateur in 1967.
She was married to Andreas Kronthaler until her death.
Parents and Siblings
She was born to Gordon Swire and Dora Swire. She has no known siblings.
