John Travis Clayton was a National Football League writer and reporter for ESPN who died on Friday, March 2022.
He went to Duquesne University and was employed by the Pittsburgh Press as a senior there.
Clayton worked for the Tacoma (Washington) News Tribune for nearly a decade before joining ESPN for more than 20 years.
Clayton has also written for a number of publications, including the Washington Post and has served as a sideline reporter for the Seahawks radio network for five seasons.
He was also a known as a senior writer for ESPN.

In a five-decade career that includes over 20 years with ESPN, he was one of the country’s leading NFL insiders.
