Shotgun Wedding 2023 was filmed in many locations, including ÀNI Dominican Republic and Boston.
The filming was held in nearby landscapes of the northeast coast like Juan Dolio, Rio San Juan, Sanchez, Samana, Cabrera, and Playa Grande, as per Sceenit. The shooting started in late 2021 and ended in March 2021. It took a few months of shooting to complete the movie.
In an interview with USA Today, actor Josh Duhamel reveals encountering a rocky situation while filming the movie in the Dominican Republic. The actor said that the calm turquoise cove was replaced with tumultuous waves when he revisited it.
He reveals having a near-death experience while filming Shotgun Wedding. He said that the waves were crashing like 30 feet in the air, and the rogue waves came up and washed him almost over the edge of the cliff. He added that the coral kept him grounded and thankfully saved him.

The movie revolves around Darcy and Tom, who are all set to get married. While the destination wedding gets hijacked, the couple rediscovers why they fell in love in the first place in the process of saving their families.
According to the IMDB reviews, the story could be more non-predictable and engaging. The numerous plot twists throughout the film are incoherent and incomprehensible. It compensates with good comedy, mocking some of the action cliches and having some good performances, especially that of Jennifer Coolidge.
Overall, the movie was decent and fun to watch, but it needed to be more awesome to binge.
