Maurizio Smith’s friend’s husband entered the restaurant with divorce papers in hand, according to the police. He spoke with Smith and his wife for 20 minutes before things heated.
The husband then reportedly stormed out of the institution but returned a short time later with a weapon and fired 13 rounds at his wife and her male companion.
According to the police, the killer fled the restaurant unharmed along with several other patrons, despite Smith being hit multiple times and pronounced dead on the spot.
When deputies responded to reports of a shooting, the alleged gunman attempted to flee in his Maserati but was stopped. The man reportedly got out of his car and shot himself.
In a critical condition, he was transported to Houston Northwest Hospital. The cops stated that they did not anticipate him to survive.
