Frida Gustavsson husband Marcel Engdahl is an actor. Gustavsson and Engdahl tied the knot on September 3, 2022. 

Gustavsson is a Swedish model and actress best known for playing Freydís Eiríksdóttir in Netflix’s revival of Vikings: Valhalla. Historians credit her character as one of the early sources of European contact with America.

Frida Gustavsson’s husband Marcel Engdahl is a Swedish model and actor. Marcel appeared in a 2015 short film titled Female Fantasy.

Engdahl, whose full name is Marcel Witt-Brattström Engdahl, was born to his parents Ebba Witt-Brattström and Horace Engdahl.

His mother Ebba is a renowned Swedish scholar and professor. Likewise, his father Horace is a lifelong member of the Swedish Academy and served as the Academy’s permanent secretary for a decade from June 1999 to June 2009. 

Marcel’s parents were married for 25 years between 1989 and 2014. Their union produced three sons, including Marcel. However, it is unknown if the two are his elder siblings or younger siblings. 

Although Engdahl comes from an academic family, he opted to pursue art instead of academics. According to The Cinemaholic, Marcel worked as Assistant Director at Belenius art gallery in Sweden in 2017 when he first met Frida. However, Marcel has moved towards musical art, leaving behind painting. He currently serves as the Label Manager for Northern Electronics.

Apart from working in art and music, Marcel has also worked as an actor. He appeared in the 2015 short film Female Fantasy, according to his IMDb profile. The actor has a towering height of 6 feet and 6 inches, which is 2 meters tall.

Frida and Marcel exchanged vows at their Swedish wedding on September 3, 2022.

The model could not stop herself from sharing glimpses of their nuptials with her Instagram followers. She shared a video of them walking hand in hand wearing their gorgeous wedding dress while confetti poured on the bride and groom. The couple is seen stopping for a second and laughing before they start enjoying the shower.

For a model of such stature, it is not uncommon for one to expect an extravagant wedding dress. However, Frida kept it simple, much simpler than we thought, at her wedding. She wore a simple white floor-length off-shoulder wedding gown with a fingertip veil.

Similarly, Frida flaunted plain white gloves which stretched between her elbow and fingertips. She carried a small elegant bouquet in her right hand and caught her husband Marcel with her left hand.

On the other hand, the groom made a huge statement as he dressed in a black tailcoat tuxedo. Marcel paired his black tailcoat tuxedo with black pants and added some contrast to the colors with a white shirt. He completed his looks with white flower boutonnière to match his bride’s bouquet.

In the images captured by photographer Pierre Björk and shared by Vogue Scandinavia on their Instagram page, we can see Marcel french-kissing his wife Frida on the streets of Sweden. The newlyweds looked all loved up in their wedding pictures on Pierre’s Instagram.

However, before all this could happen, the couple developed a strong bond between them which eventually led to their relationship and dating. Frida and Marcel first made a public appearance after the actress shared an image with her then-boyfriend on Instagram in May 2017.

The couple then started making frequent appearances through Frida’s Instagram account. Unfortunately, Gustavsson never revealed anything about her engagement but surprised her followers with a wedding. 

Marcel Engdahl Is 32 Years Old

Marcel Engdahl is 32 years old; he will turn 33 on January 19, 2023. 

Engdahl was born to his parents Horace Engdahl and Ebba Witt-Brattström on January 19, 1990, in Stockholm, Sweden.

He has two brothers and one half-brother from his mother’s previous relationship. The actor’s half-brother is older than him, but the ages of his two siblings are unknown.

Similarly, Engdahl’s wife Frida is 29 years old; she was born on June 6, 1993, to Leffe Gustavsson and Ann-Britt Gustavsson in  Stockholm, Sweden. She has two siblings; her elder brother is named Lerik Gustavsson, and her younger brother is Johan Gustavsson.

Marcel and his wife were 26 and 24 years old in 2017 when they met for the first time. While Frida’s romantic life with Marcel might have started at the age of 24, she first walked on runways at 12. Moreover, she was discovered at the age of 10 years old at an IKEA store.

Marcel’s parents Horace Engdahl and Ebba Witt-Brattström are both famous academic personalities in Sweden. 

The actor’s father Horace Engdahl is a member of the Swedish Academy. He was appointed as a member in 1997 and will hold the position throughout his lifetime. In addition, he also served as the permanent secretary at the Academy for a decade, from June 1, 1999, to June 1, 2009.

As the permanent secretary, Horace’s role was to act as the spokesperson of the Academy. His annual duty included announcing the Nobel Prize in Literature winner. As a Swedish historian and critic, Horace has published his works since 1982.

Similarly, Marcel’s mother Ebba is also a well-known scholar from Sweden. She specializes in Comparative Literature and currently serves as a professor and head of the department of literature at Södertörn University near Stockholm.

Ebba has published over 20 works as a writer, translated three, and served as an editor in her career. She has also received Moa Prize, Lotten von Kræmer’s Award, Ivar Lo-Johansson’s Personal Prize,  Elin Wägner Society Prize, and Mårbacka Prize in 1991, 2004, 2014, 2015, and 2016, respectively.

Horace and Ebba were married for 25 years between 1989 and 2014. The couple gave birth to three sons, including Marcel, in their 25 years of union.

Likewise, Ebba also has a son from her previous marriage to Ola Holmgren from 1977 to 1982.
