Sinisa Mihajlovic was a Serbian professional football manager and footballer. He played as a defender or midfielder during his career as a footballer. He won 63 caps and scored 10 goals for Yugoslavia from 1991 to 2003. He played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000 tournaments.

He was considered to be among the best free-kick takers of all time, and he holds the record in Serie A for most goals from free-kicks with 28 goals. He was the coach of the Serbia national football team from May 2012 to November 2013 as well.

Sinisa’s death was caused by complications of leukemia. In a public announcement in July 2019, Sinisa revealed that he was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia, however, he still stayed on as manager of Bologna.

He underwent a bone marrow transplant after three cycles of chemotherapy. He died on December 16, 2022, in a Rome clinic, and was aged 53. The grieving family is yet to announce the arrangements for his funeral.

Sinisa was born in Vukovar, on February 20, 1969, to a Bosnian Serb father Bogdan – a truck driver, and a Croat mother Viktorija – a shoe factory worker.

Arianna Rapaccioni, an Italian former television presenter was his wife with whom he had five children – three sons and two daughters. His children are; Virginia Mihajlovic, Viktorija Mihajlovic, Marco Mihajlovic, Miroslav Mihajlovic, Dusan Mihajlovic, and Nicholas Mihajlovic

As of the time of his death, his net worth is estimated between $6 million and $8 million.
