Sedaka was born on March 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, and is known for writing the hit song “(Is This the Way to) Amarillo”.
Sedaka’s music career began in the 1950s, and has so far sold millions of records worldwide.
Some of his early hits include “Oh! Carol”, “Calendar Girl”, “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen”, “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do”, “Laughter in the Rain” and “Bad Blood”.
