Jack Sanborn on July 29, 2000, in Lake Zurich, Illinois. His father Paul Sanborn, played college football as an offensive lineman for the University of Oregon. When he was four years old, his father passed away and he was raised by his mother from then on.

He attended Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, Illinois. During his senior year, he was named the Pioneer Press Defensive Player of the Year after recording 120 tackles and three sacks.

As a four-star recruit, he committed to playing college football at Wisconsin over offers from Duke, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt.

As a senior, he was named first-team All-Big Ten. Following this season, he declared his eligibility for the 2022 NFL Draft.
