Spring Garden Township Victims, Erin Walker Was Shot And Killed

Erin Walker, the victim, was a mother of a three-year-old daughter and a popular Central York High School social studies teacher. 36 years of Walker was shot by her next-door neighbor, 59-year-old Daniel Berry.

“She had the largest heart and would do anything for anyone,” said one of Walker and Berry’s neighbors. “As a mother, my heart is crushed into pieces.”

Walker had just gotten home from the grocery when the two got into an altercation, according to neighbors whose Ring doorbell camera filmed the event.

They reported hearing screaming and then bullets being fired.

“I’m not sure if it hit her the first time, but following the initial shot, additional rounds were fired, and she walked toward her car, where she fell,” a neighbor informed the reporters.

According to Fox43, Berry then allegedly turned the pistol on himself and died outside the house. Walker died on Sunday at the hospital after suffering a serious injury from a gunshot.

On Monday, the district released a message to families that stated in part:

“During her years of employment in the Central York School District, Miss Walker impacted the lives of hundreds of pupils. We consider ourselves privileged to have had the opportunity to spend time with her.”

“We are devastated by her death since she was a wonderful teacher and a wonderful person.”
