Although Batali had represented in Iron Chef America for two more episodes in 2008, he eventually distanced himself from the competition and was removed from the show’s opening credits. Batali had been a member of Iron Chef America for six seasons when he left.

The chef recently revealed to The Atlantic why he finally chose to leave Iron Chef America. Batali was quite blunt and straightforward as to why he left the competition.

Suddenly, the judges weren’t from the food industry; they were from the entertainment industry, says Batali.

Someone is going to sit up there and pass judgment on something I spent an hour making delicious, and they’re going to say, Oh, I wouldn’t have done it that way. Of course, you would not have done it that way. You’re a performer.

As per a brief interview with the celebrity chef, all indicators point to the fact that he opted out by himself. Because then he felt the judges deployed at the time were going to be biased and as a matter of fact were not from the Food circles.
